The real reason this A list singer/songwriter won’t take her tour to India is because she is upset by its human rights issues and treatment of women.

The Manipur case gave her more reason not to do so.

Feel bad for her fans in India, but she is standing up for human rights issues and treatment of women.

On July 19, a disturbing video emerged showing two women from the Kuki-Zomi community in Manipur being paraded naked and sexually assaulted. This appalling incident reportedly occurred on May 4, shortly after ethnic clashes erupted between the Kuki and Meitei communities in the state.

The police faced severe criticism when it was revealed that the attack on the Kuki women had occurred in early May. Despite a police case being filed at that time, no action was taken for over 70 days until the video went viral, prompting public outrage and putting immense pressure on the authorities to take action.

According to one of the women in the video, the police had handed them over to the violent mob, which consisted of members from the majority Meitei tribe, resulting in their horrific ordeal. The incident has sparked widespread concern and demands for justice for the victims.
