This former A+ list celebrity doesn’t want a movie made about him.
He is going to even more upset when he finds out what they are going to say about him.
Richard Simmons
Richard Simmons, the reclusive fitness guru, has issued a rare statement expressing his disapproval of an upcoming biopic starring Pauly Shore. Simmons clarified on Facebook that he had never given permission for the movie and encouraged his fans not to believe everything they read. The 75-year-old celebrity mentioned that he no longer has a manager or publicist as he seeks to live a quiet and peaceful life.
Pauly Shore, a 55-year-old actor known for “Encino Man,” is also portraying Simmons in the short film “The Court Jester,” set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. This short film is unrelated to the Warner Bros. subsidiary The Wolper Organization’s biopic production.
The Wolper Organization, respecting Simmons’ desire for privacy, aims to create a movie that honors and celebrates him while telling a dramatic story. They acknowledge his significant impact on millions of lives and believe his legacy deserves recognition.
Despite not having Simmons’ blessing, Pauly Shore expressed his excitement about sharing the TV personality’s story with the world. Simmons has maintained a low profile for years, and in 2017, there were rumors that he had been kidnapped by his housekeeper, which the police ultimately investigated and dismissed.
Simmons also took legal action against tabloids that claimed he was undergoing a gender transition, confirming in court documents that he had not undergone such a change. His statement regarding the biopic highlights his continued desire for privacy and a quiet life away from the public eye.
