The recent memorial service for Hollywood icon Ryan O’Neal, who passed away on December 8 at 82, has exposed family tensions, with three out of four of O’Neal’s children notably absent.

Griffin O’Neal, one of Ryan’s sons, disclosed that he wasn’t invited to the service, revealing a strained relationship. Griffin drove 2,000 miles from Houston, Texas, only to find the ceremony rescheduled.

Griffin, the younger brother of actress Tatum O’Neal, disclosed, “I’m the hated son who told the truth. Dark times in this family. Love means never having to say you’re sorry — and Ryan never did, to anyone.”

The rift between Griffin and his father goes back 17 years, with the two having not spoken since a physical altercation in 2007 at Ryan O’Neal’s Malibu home.

Ryan O’Neal’s death was attributed to congestive heart failure, capping a life marked by battles with leukemia and prostate cancer. The absence of key family members at the memorial raises questions about the underlying tensions and unresolved issues within the O’Neal family.
