Clash of Faiths and Fame

This foreign born A-/B+ list actress made a very controversial visit to a temple.

That international gig will probably be pulled from her, but her country is happy which is why they paid her to go.

Why is this controversial?

The Ram Mandir, also known as the Ram Temple, is a Hindu temple located in the city of Ayodhya in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is dedicated to the worship of Lord Ram, a central figure in Hindu mythology and the seventh avatar of the god Vishnu. The temple holds significant religious importance for Hindus as it is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Ram.

The construction of the Ram Mandir has been a subject of controversy and legal disputes for decades due to its location on a site where the Babri Masjid, a mosque, once stood. The mosque was demolished by Hindu nationalist groups in 1992, leading to communal tensions and riots across India.

After years of legal battles, India’s Supreme Court ruled in 2019 that the land should be handed over to a trust to build a Hindu temple, while also allocating a separate plot of land for the construction of a mosque elsewhere in Ayodhya to appease Muslim sentiments.

The construction of the Ram Mandir commenced thereafter, and it was inaugurated in January 2021 by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The temple is considered a symbol of Hindu pride and nationalism and holds immense cultural and religious significance for millions of Hindus in India and around the world.
