Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, came out swinging after her Instagram account seemingly “liked” a post about a refiled lawsuit accusing Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs of assaulting a minor in 2000. Knowles denied the action, stating her account was hacked, emphasizing her loyalty to family and urging others to stop spreading misinformation.
The lawsuit, which initially named only Combs, alleges that the unnamed accuser was assaulted at a VMAs afterparty following suspicious circumstances. Both Jay-Z and Combs have denied the allegations, with Jay-Z going further to label the claims as a blackmail attempt orchestrated by the accuser’s lawyer.
Jay-Z addressed the matter publicly, describing the accusations as a heinous fabrication and challenging the accuser to pursue criminal charges rather than a civil suit. He expressed concern for his family and denounced the accuser’s legal team for attempting to extort money. Meanwhile, Combs’ representatives also dismissed the claims as baseless attempts to generate publicity.
