Serena Williams’ husband, entrepreneur and investor Alexis Ohanian, took a humorous approach to being mistaken for Williams’ assistant during the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The mix-up occurred during the opening ceremony on Friday (July 26), when English announcer Laura Woods, observing the rain-soaked scene with Williams and their six-year-old daughter Olympia, referred to Ohanian as an umbrella holder.

“Those are the kind of levels you aspire to,” Woods commented.

“To have an actual umbrella holder behind you.”

Rather than taking offense, Ohanian embraced the moment on Instagram, posting a lighthearted message:

“Olympia. Serena. Serena’s Personal Umbrella Holder. 😂 Let the games begin! I’ll be watching a lot of T&F to soak up @athlos inspiration. 🥇”
