Over the course of the next several years, this music conglomerate will have a new label that is filled with nothing but AI music.

So far, with the limited amounts they have done, they are making a fortune.

No artist to pay.

No royalties to pay.

Plus, they are teaming up with satellite radio to provide them with many channels of music that will have a flat rate of royalties paid to the label that is a fraction of what the satellite radio pays now.

Over 200 prominent musicians, including Billie Eilish, Nicki Minaj, Stevie Wonder, and others, have signed an open letter urging protection against the exploitative use of artificial intelligence (AI) that imitates human artists.

The letter, issued by the Artist Rights Alliance, calls for technology companies to refrain from developing AI tools that undermine or replace human creativity in music.

While acknowledging the potential benefits of responsible AI use in the industry, the letter emphasizes the need to prevent AI from stealing artists’ voices and likenesses, violating creators’ rights, and disrupting the music ecosystem.

The pushback against generative AI stems from ethical and legal concerns regarding copyright infringement and labor rights.

Tennessee recently passed legislation, the “Elvis Act,” to protect musicians’ vocal likenesses, but issues regarding the use of artists’ work to train AI models remain unresolved.

The letter highlights the efforts of powerful companies to replace human artistry with AI-generated content, which diminishes royalty pools for artists. While some artists, like Grimes, see AI as an opportunity for experimentation, others, like Nick Cave, view AI imitations of their work negatively.
