Now, in hindsight, people are looking at the producer/wannabe rapper and his “charity” that he ran about a decade ago.
Basically, it involved giving drunk women, especially celebrities a ride home.
The more drunk the better.
Our producer/wannabe rapper would sometimes personally take them home.
Sean Combs (Diddy)
Safe Rides campaign
2009
Diddy has revived his Safe Rides program in collaboration with Ciroc Vodka for New Year’s Eve, providing transportation in New York and Las Vegas for those who are intoxicated. The program offers $15 pre-paid taxi cards and $2.25 MTA cards, distributed between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. in New York and outside major clubs and intersections in Las Vegas. Diddy aims to promote safe celebrations and ensure everyone gets home safely, expanding the initiative to two major cities this year.
2013- 2014
Sean “Diddy” Combs, in collaboration with Ciroc Vodka and on-demand transportation app Uber, has launched a Safe Rides campaign for New Year’s Day 2014. Consumers are encouraged to pledge not to drink and drive using #CIROCthenewyear on social media. If 10,000 pledges are received, new Uber users will receive a $25 coupon code, totaling up to $1,000,000. Combs will tweet a special code at 12:00pm EST on January 1, 2014, for users to redeem their discount on Uber rides. The campaign, in its sixth year, began in Los Angeles and features pledge parties in key markets and billboards in Times Square. Combs emphasizes responsible celebration and encourages awareness through public service announcements and celebrity participation. The initiative aims to promote safe celebrations during the holiday season and urges individuals to designate a driver or use alternative transportation methods when drinking.
