This reclusive leader of a major overseas rock band says he has no ill will towards the CEO, but it’s curious that he decided to release a hastily-mixed single as the band’s first in nearly a decade, right as the recently renamed social media platform threatens the band’s trademark in their home country.

Elon Musk’s recent Twitter rebrand as “X” has hit a hurdle in Japan due to a trademark conflict with the popular rock band, X Japan.
Formed by members Toshi and Yoshiki in 1982, the four-piece have recorded together on and off for decades, and remain one of the highest-selling bands in the country.
While the rebranding is in effect in the United States and other countries, the name “X” has already been trademarked by the well-known J-rock band in Japan.
X Japan has successfully blocked Twitter from using their name and has also made a comeback with their first new single in eight years.
